But really, girl, we loved you for a little bit, gave you the upper hand, gave you the chance to redeem yourself, but your live performances are just still lacking. Maybe it’s a lack of a truly kick-ass diaphram, but I’m just not impressed. Even in the commercial for the same VMAs, you tried to belt it…and failed. So, why, WHY did you walk away with the album of the year award? I’m sorry, how many hits did you have? I’m counting three…maybe. Sales shmales. if you don’t have the cred then money is worth nothing. (Especially in the music industry right now, where money really doesn’t exist anymore, sorry guys!).
Did they Grammy committee nominate her out of pity because of her oh-poor-sweet-Taylor status? Did they not listen to her live performances? Did they just dismiss the fact that Lady GaGa is possibly the best thing that’s happened to pop music since, oh, the 1970s?! Now I might be a bit biased, because I think Lady G is my soul mate, but statistically, she wins. She’s had about five top 10s in one year (I didn’t look this up or anything, but I feel like it’s true). That combined with her truly, truly amazing talent, there should have been no competition:

suuure, it’s cute, it’s fun, it’s young. But she has a lot of growing up to do, and a lot of time to do it. So I honestly don’t understand why she pulled out the Best Album of the Year Award over artists like GaGa and Beyoncé. Really, guys; I expect that the entire voting committee must have been really freaking nostalgic for high school that day.
